This is worse than the two weeks I had to fend for myself, and take care of Sylvia, when Edie was in the hospital having her transplant. The only difference this time is, I don't have to do anything [because I'm unable]. Edie is taking care of me.
I am just feeling so helpless. I can barely function on my own. Edie even had to cut up my dinner last night. This splint/bandage feels like it weighs 5 pounds, and is really cumbersome. It hurts just to move my arm, and I'm getting these strange feelings.
At first it felt like I had my ring finger crossed over on top of my pinky finger, then it felt like the pinky finger was bent 90 degrees, and now it just feels like my pinky finger is not there at all. Then there are the unscratchable itches [which are really annoying], and of course the pain still continues, for which I've just reluctantly taken my 6th & 7th Tylenol w/Codeine. [Something I really don't like doing.]
Believe it or not, I can remember breaking my left ankle in 1969, and after two weeks in a cast, I made the doctor take it off, it was so aggravating. The ankle wasn't quite healed at the time, but the doctor was able to tape it up real good, so I was still able to walk on it [gingerly]. I can also remember how relieved I felt after the cast was removed. (I later found out the doctor was the trainer for the Pittsburgh Steelers.)
Anywaze, right now I'm feeling just like I did before I had that doctor remove the cast, and I've barely had this one on 24 hours. Somehow this time though, I don't think the result would be quite the same.
So I guess I will continue to suffer! :(

Don't mess with that bandage or you could undo all that the doctor did and then you'd be sitting in pain for nothing.
