I couldn't be prouder

I knew there was a good reason, Morris wasn't bringing home any trophy's lately.

After Morris lost his last collar (presumably in a fight), Edie went and bought him a replacement collar that had a bell on it. When she bought it, we [I] never considered how it might effect his ability to hunt, but after about 3 months without any late night surprises, I was starting to get suspicious. Plus, 3 months is about the longest Morris has ever gone without losing his collar.

So this evening I decided it was time to take the bell off, and no sooner did I do that, Morris proudly strutted home grasping a freshly caught rat in his mouth, which he quickly devoured while we watched the evening news.

Sylvia was mortified, Edie wasn't particularly happy either (she hates it when Morris kills anything), but I was so proud.

Just like me, Morris still has a few good years (he's 12 now) left in him.

Well our Oscar now has 2 bells to help save the birds, so he brought us a small snake!

Hunting is their natural way.....

Our cats have always been too fat to catch anything.....

That's exactly why Joseph took the bell off of Poor Jerry and yesterday we had a headless rat on our porch as a thank you. Either that or it was some kind of cat mob warning to Sadie. She got out the door and chased him the day before.

Way to go Morris!

And I hope you praised Jerry for his accomplished.

I remember when we moved to Houston in 1978, we had all our cats declawed, and felt so bad for the longest time. Once you do that a cat is basically defenseless.

At least I was able to correct the latest indiscretion.

One of neighbors, who frequently walks her dog by our house, is always admonishing me to get a bell for our outdoor cat because he goes after song birds. I can't bring myself to do it because we have coyotes and I don't want those wily creatures to have the edge.

Glad to hear that Edie is doing so well.

Rural medical center (in Georgia) suspended from vaccination program after inoculating school district staff. Give me a break! Trying to get kids back to school, while protecting teachers, bus drivers and other staff, is exactly what school districts should be doing. If they have vaccines, give them out. We should be giving out vaccines to all who want them, whenever available. Trying to adhere to rigid guidelines will only result in fewer people getting vaccines, resulting in the discarding of precious vaccines, and less protection for everyone. History IS repeating itself

I didn't grow up during the rise and fall of Hitler and Nazi Germany, so for me to claim it feels like those are the times we are living in now, must be taken with a grain of salt. But I have seen enough movies, and read enough history to know, if the times we're living in now are not akin to the rise of a Nazism and Facism in Europe in the 1930's and 1940's, then we're not far off. If you can't see the parallels with Nazi Germany, then you must be living in a different country than me. Republicans and other right wing extremists will stop at nothing to subvert the will of the majority, forcing their beliefs, that they are the superior race and have been appointed by God, to impose their will on America, while they blame all our problems on immigrants, blacks and Jews. My concerns reaffirmed today

When I was first diagnosed with MCL, I pretty much read just about everything I could get my hands on, I attended various conferences, and I talked to anyone who would listen. One of the most important lessons I learned, and which I've mentioned numerous times before was No one cares more about you than you. But in addition to that, I learned to fear the drug Doxorubicin , AKA Adriamycin, Doxil, Hydroxydoxorubicin, or more affectionately the Red Devil. Besides being a deadly chemical, as is the case with most chemotherapy drugs, it is one of the few chemotherapy drugs known to cause permanent heart damage. I even heard Dr. Sandra Horning , a noted Stanford lymphoma specialist, state at the first lymphoma conference I attended in LA, there was no evidence Doxorubicin provided any added benefit to chemotherapy protocols.
