The more I sit around the house doing nothing

The more I want to sit around the house, and do absolutely nothing. The more I think about my MCL.  The more I worry about every little creak, lump, bump or other oddity I feel in my body, and worst of all, the sorrier I begin to feel for myself.

Monday is typically my rest day, but I usually do manage to get out of the house and do something, what ever it might be.  I might go shopping, hit some golf balls at the range, or I might even go to the gym.

But yesterday I didn't do any of that.  I got up around 5 AM, posted to my blog, and after having a bowl of cereal, I plopped myself down in my lounge chair in front of the TV, watching the business channel, while I waited for the US Open play off to begin between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate.

I had every intention of going to hit some golf balls after the match, but by the time it ended, there was another show on TV I wanted to see, so I just kept watching.

By then of course it was too late to do anything.  Edie would be home soon, and.........

So I went and checked some of the emails from the message boards I belong to on the internet, further depressing myself, until Edie got home, after which I plopped myself right back down in front of the TV waiting for dinner.

It was a completely wasted day, and now this morning, all I want to do is more of the same.

I was planning on racing at Eldo this evening, so I wasn't going to ride this morning, but I know if I don't get out of this house soon, I may never want to get out of the house.  So I'm definitely going for a bike ride this morning, and hopefully I still feel able enough to go racing at Eldo tonight as well.

Okay, first of all, if you're home all day why is Edie cooking dinner? And B, she has her own health and your health issues to deal with and she doesn't need to come home to a whiner.

Dude, get your ass in here and work! Then you will have a whole new topic to whine about. The price of gas, road construction on PCH, what idiots you are forced to work with. I could go on and on, but I think you've already touched on each topic. Oh, I got one, you could whine about wine! At the very least, you can come in and listen to ME rant.

Don't forget, I won't be in tomorrow as I have a date with a toilet or Thursday as I have a date with a proctologist. So, yeah, I'm not feeling real sympathetic this week. Try again next Tuesday.

MISS ME???????????????

History IS repeating itself

I didn't grow up during the rise and fall of Hitler and Nazi Germany, so for me to claim it feels like those are the times we are living in now, must be taken with a grain of salt. But I have seen enough movies, and read enough history to know, if the times we're living in now are not akin to the rise of a Nazism and Facism in Europe in the 1930's and 1940's, then we're not far off. If you can't see the parallels with Nazi Germany, then you must be living in a different country than me. Republicans and other right wing extremists will stop at nothing to subvert the will of the majority, forcing their beliefs, that they are the superior race and have been appointed by God, to impose their will on America, while they blame all our problems on immigrants, blacks and Jews. As I speak, Mitch McConnell, and his minions are raising roadblocks to all legislation designed to help average Americans under the guise of fiscal responsibility. They condone violent and verba...

My concerns reaffirmed today

When I was first diagnosed with MCL, I pretty much read just about everything I could get my hands on, I attended various conferences, and I talked to anyone who would listen. One of the most important lessons I learned, and which I've mentioned numerous times before was No one cares more about you than you. But in addition to that, I learned to fear the drug Doxorubicin , AKA Adriamycin, Doxil, Hydroxydoxorubicin, or more affectionately the Red Devil. Besides being a deadly chemical, as is the case with most chemotherapy drugs, it is one of the few chemotherapy drugs known to cause permanent heart damage. I even heard Dr. Sandra Horning , a noted Stanford lymphoma specialist, state at the first lymphoma conference I attended in LA, there was no evidence Doxorubicin provided any added benefit to chemotherapy protocols. This was music to my ears, since Doxorubicin is very common in most lymphoma treatment protocols. And even though Dr. Horning has since changed her tune [which my sk...

Chloe's back

A very nice young kid called about 10:30 last night, indicating he found her. Four days she was gone, and it's a good thing he found her then, because she was about 5 blocks away, right at a major intersection with lots of traffic. Who knows what might have happened if he hadn't found her then. She was a little disheveled, but didn't look the worse for wear. Of course the first thing she did when we got her home was head straight for the food. Now all she seems to want to do is sleep. She slept with us the entire night, and today, she's spent the entire day on our bed. It must have been a very trying ordeal for her. I guess it's true that cats have 9 lives. The problem is at this rate (this is the second time she's disappeared), Chloe's going to use hers up before she turns 3 (She's not even 2 yet). But Edie and Morris are happy now. Ok, maybe Morris not so much, but Edie was much relieved.
